Daddy Issues

Both characters have daddy issues, way different but hurt all the same. I thought all the while, they share the same predicament, I don’t know whether to thank God or not, that it wasn’t. Both have secrets – darker and worse than what any of us can guess.

They needed each other, and have found solace in one another. Nora had found her escape, and Brand had found someone to help him – even though he abhors help. Nora had wanted him since she was twelve years old, this was her opportunity to have him. To rub something good off him to her, for she felt she had been thrown the throes of hell, and she needed some goodness in her life. But she wouldn’t stay. Brand deserved someone perfect, and someone good in his life. She was far from it.

He tried to resist her. But it was futile. She was a woman on a mission, and she had him on target. It was fun (yes, there was a fun element too!!!) watching him fight his attraction and wave off her teasing. I was wondering how long can he fight her off…

He is a hero.

Brand might be injured but he will do ANYTHING to save her. It didn’t take long enough for him to guess what was going on with her. She need not need to spill her secrets, one dinner with her family and he knew what was going on. Just like him, there was no one to save her but herself. But she was helpless… and he was ready to save her…

Only that they have underestimated the enemy…. Will they have their HEA? Or will their secrets catch up to them?

I didn’t think my heart stopped pounding so hard until the epilogue. I can’t tell you how amazing this book is, how it made my heart ache so badly, I think I never wanted for any of the characters to have their happy ending fast desperately, until I have met this two great people. This emotion-filled book, had me glued to my reader right from the beginning of the book, until I was on the last page. My emotions were on the rise, there wasn’t a dull moment – I break, I stumble, I fell, I was completely entranced. The hairs in my arms were rising, shivers went up to my spine, OMG Courtney Cole- what are you doing to me?!

To say that I love this book is an understatement – I totally dig this one! Courtney Cole had outdone herself. This! This was totally worth the read, worth all those emotions, worth all those aches. This is another masterpiece. I’m so sure you will fall in love with Brand and Nora – their imperfections, their baggage, and everything that goes with them… This was a beautifully-written novel not just about love, but about family and courage to finally fight for yourself, for what you want, for what is right and for what you deserve.
