Found in Us by Layla Hagen - Book Blitz, Book Review, Giveaway

**This can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica and Parker's story.**

All Jessica wants -as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men.

She particularly excels at that last thing. . .

Until her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating.

And enigmatic.

Because underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her crave his touch, Parker isn’t the perfect gentleman everyone thinks he is.

He’s exactly what Jessica doesn’t want, but desperately needs.

A bad, bad boy.

(Re-posted)

This is my second book by Layla Hagen, and she hasn’t disappointed me so far. The series just got better and better, and I so love the dual POV that came with this book. I was so thankful for it, getting inside the character’s mind would make you understand them more.

You will fall in love with Jessica and Parker, just like you did with Serena and James. They are two different people, who shares some similar traits – they find it hard to trust other people.

She wanted to be good.

Jessica wasn’t perfect. She was the bad girl who’s trying to turn over a new leaf. She just graduated from college and eager to start new away from home starting with getting her dream job at a museum and eliminate temptations. No more wild parties, no more short skirts and most important no more men.

She was doing good with getting herself away from temptation until she crosses path with Parker again. The last time they had met didn’t lead to something good. She was embarrassed, more likely for herself. But avoiding him would be a bit futile, since he was close with Dani. Just like his friend, he can be hot, then cold. He can be tempting acting as if he wants her, then suddenly would act as if he doesn’t want her at all. This had made her confuse even more. The mystery that he exudes and the attraction they shared, gravitated her towards him.

She makes him lose his control.

Parker is trying his best to be the perfect gentleman in front of everyone. Even though it kills him a bit, not to touch or taste Jessica every time he sees her. He needed to have his control, and with Jessica, he was losing it. She was a danger to him. But she was exactly what he needs. He was living a mundane, boring, serious life, and she sees the rainbow in every storm. She is a breath of fresh air. Maybe this is the reason why he couldn’t help but like her.

But how can two people who have trust issues built a relationship?

My sentiment exactly. They both have problems with trust, how can a relationship withstood storms and quakes without it? Even friendship would crumble without trust. But with their past, you will understand why trust wasn’t easy for them to give. It took some time (like-I-was-dying-right-here-I-need-to-know-now kind of some time) before secrets were spilled, and trust was gained one day after the other. It was their trust issues that drove both of them apart. All the while, I thought of something else, but Parker surprised me with what he did. It was a WTF moment right there.

How can they possibly kiss and make up? Would they finally set aside their issues, and allow themselves to trust and commit?

I love how their characters develop, how change was happening as I turn the pages. I couldn’t help myself from getting hooked, and falling in love with the characters, and most especially I can’t wait until book 3, which is Dani’s story. This book gives us something to look forward to.

Found In Us is hot, tempting, and sweet all wrapped up with a great cover. Parker is the kind of man that stars in some of our wildest fantasies, and Jessica is one heck of a lucky girl!
I will never take away your wings, Jessica. I want to learn how to fly with you.
