Surrounded by S.C. Ellington - Book Review
Everything was falling into place. Even amongst all the chaos of Washington D.C., Brooklyn and Logan found each other.
Brooklyn never expected Logan...and as it always seems to happen with her...things fell apart. She has been through this before...was she strong enough to do it again?
On the outside, Logan was the epitome of wealth and confidence. Many knew his name but few knew his secrets. He never expected Brooklyn...but now she's walked away. He knew what they shared mattered to her...and she...she mattered to him more.
I enjoyed reading
Unsettled, and I was looking forward in reading Surrounded, the second book in
the series. I was looking forward for Logan’s POV – thank goodness for the dual
POV in this book, I was so relieved. I have been wanting to get inside Logan’s
brains for ages. He has so many secrets, so many issues and a past that was
still blurry in the first book.
It started right about where the first book ended,
Brooklyn and Logan are about to live their happily-ever-after. After her
devastating heartache, she never expected Logan. He was a pleasant surprise. What
they have happened fast, but they were happy. Until, everything fell apart. When
I say everything, I really meant everything. Her heart was broken, she lost her
job. She decided she had nothing more in Washington and opted to just go home
for a while.
If she had only allowed him to explain – it would have
saved us all the trouble. But no, she ran away. She left him without telling
him what was wrong. And he was left dumbfounded. He tried to give her space,
but when everything seems to be running out of hand, and he couldn’t find her
anymore, he decided to make his move and followed her.
Logan may have everything in the world, but he only
wanted one girl. That is Brooklyn. She was his unexpected, and now she’s gone
and had walked away from him. I like that he acted fast, he tried to give space
(as healthy as possible), but when it didn’t end well, he rushed to her, and
won her back. Not only that, he had won the trust of her family and friends.
Trust has been the issue between the two of them.
Thankfully, they worked it out. Conversation and Communication is one of the
best foundations of a relationship, so as trust and honesty. It was a small
mistake, a misunderstanding that had almost cost them something valuable.
Alex was still a charmer, and she brought nothing but
smiles in this novel. She’s really a loyal friend, and you can’t find someone
who loves Brooke except for Logan maybe. She would do everything for her
friend, and I’m so glad she too is going to get her HEA.
I liked S.C. Ellington after I read Unsettled, and now
with Surrounded, I liked her even more. I love the secrets, and the twists. It’s
sexy. It’s romantic. It’s sweet. It can be frustrating at times, but S.C.
Ellington will make sure you will have everything you need before you close her
book.

Found In Us by Layla Hagen - Book Review
**This can be read as a STANDALONE. The second book in the Lost series tells Jessica and Parker's story.**
All Jessica wants -as a college graduate — is to be a good girl. She landed the job of her dreams at a museum and is trying to eliminate temptations. No more short skirts (when she can help it). No wild parties. And no men.
She particularly excels at that last thing. . .
Until her path crosses Parker’s. Again. Jessica remembers the last time their paths crossed very well. She was left with a seriously bruised ego. She knows it would be best to avoid him altogether. But the charming Brit makes it hard for her to elude his electrifying pull. He is as irresistible as he is captivating.
And enigmatic.
Because underneath the sleek Armani suit and the sweet British accent that makes her crave his touch, Parker isn’t the perfect gentleman everyone thinks he is.
He’s exactly what Jessica doesn’t want, but desperately needs.
A bad, bad boy.
This is my second book by Layla Hagen, and she hasn’t
disappointed me so far. The series just got better and better, and I so love
the dual POV that came with this book. I was so thankful for it, getting inside
the character’s mind would make you understand them more.
You will fall in love with Jessica and Parker, just like
you did with Serena and James. They are two different people, who shares some
similar traits – they find it hard to trust other people.
She wanted to be
good.
Jessica wasn’t perfect. She was the bad girl who’s trying
to turn over a new leaf. She just graduated from college and eager to start new
away from home starting with getting her dream job at a museum and eliminate
temptations. No more wild parties, no more short skirts and most important no
more men.
She was doing good with getting herself away from
temptation until she crosses path with Parker again. The last time they had met
didn’t lead to something good. She was embarrassed, more likely for herself. But
avoiding him would be a bit futile, since he was close with Dani. Just like his
friend, he can be hot, then cold. He can be tempting acting as if he wants her,
then suddenly would act as if he doesn’t want her at all. This had made her
confuse even more. The mystery that he exudes and the attraction they shared,
gravitated her towards him.
She makes him lose
his control.
Parker is trying his best to be the perfect gentleman in
front of everyone. Even though it kills him a bit, not to touch or taste
Jessica every time he sees her. He needed to have his control, and with
Jessica, he was losing it. She was a danger to him. But she was exactly what he
needs. He was living a mundane, boring, serious life, and she sees the rainbow
in every storm. She is a breath of fresh air. Maybe this is the reason why he
couldn’t help but like her.
But how can two people who have trust issues built a
relationship?
My sentiment exactly. They both have problems with trust,
how can a relationship withstood storms and quakes without it? Even friendship
would crumble without trust. But with their past, you will understand why trust
wasn’t easy for them to give. It took some time (like-I-was-dying-right-here-I-need-to-know-now
kind of some time) before secrets were spilled, and trust was gained one day
after the other. It was their trust issues that drove both of them apart. All
the while, I thought of something else, but Parker surprised me with what he
did. It was a WTF moment right there.
How can they possibly kiss and make up? Would they
finally set aside their issues, and allow themselves to trust and commit?
I love how their characters develop, how change was
happening as I turn the pages. I couldn’t help myself from getting hooked, and
falling in love with the characters, and most especially I can’t wait until
book 3, which is Dani’s story. This book gives us something to look forward to.
Found In Us is hot, tempting, and sweet all wrapped up
with a great cover. Parker is the kind of man that stars in some of our wildest
fantasies, and Jessica is one heck of a lucky girl!
I will never take away your wings, Jessica. I want to learn how to fly with you.

I fell in love with books when I was nine years old, and my love affair with stories continues even now, many years later.
I write romantic stories and can’t wait to share them with the world.
And I drink coffee. Lots of it, in case the photo didn’t make it obvious enough

No Regrets by Claire Kent - Book Review
On my last birthday, I made one vow for the year. Live with no regrets. Eleven months have passed, though, and nothing has changed. I still sleep alone, spend my life working, and never move out of my comfort zone.
Then the loss of my dog throws my whole life out of orbit, and I end up in bed with a very hot and slightly-too-young veterinarian, who has recently made a vow of his own. Live with no strings. Josh is more than happy to help me with the things I’ve been afraid to try. Semi-public sex. Spanking. Anal sex. He’s a willing partner for everything I’ve wondered about, as long as I don’t demand more.
He’s serious about his no-strings philosophy. As serious as I am about living with no regrets. I can’t help but fall for him, even though I know better. So my biggest regret might be a broken heart.
