Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

Review:

If there's one word for it - it would be SWOON!!!!

From the blurb - down to the last page- I was totally hooked. And although this was not on my reading list, I knew I have to read it. When I did it was totally worth it. J.Lynn...

TOTALLY!!!

T/C: Agoraphobia VS OCD
Avery Morgansten
She's an enigma. She flew all the way from Texas to a school where nobody knew her. Avery Morgansten - wanted to remain invisible, her life predictable and earn some good friends. But how can she be invisible when she caught the attention of the school's hottest guy, Cam?

Something happened that Halloween five years ago, then everything changed. She had two lives the before Halloween and after Halloween. And no girl in her right mind would prefer her after life. She used to dance and wanted to be a professional dancer in New York. But the after events made her changed her mind. Now she just wanted to be a librarian or a curator in some quiet place. Avery thought she was doing okay in her new life, but she was kept haunted by her old life when emails and texts starts to pour on her laptop and mobile phone.

Her parents? What parents? They were cold and ruthless. I have never thought I would meet parents such as them in real lives. How can they possibly to this to their only child - I do not know. All I know is a child's life is way more important than reputation.

Oh, he's HOT
Cameron Hilton: HOT|MANWHORE|POPULAR|BAKER

Who, exactly, in her right mind wouldn't want this kind of guy?

He throws the best parties and certainly one of the most popular girls in school, that's why Avery was surprised why he took interest in her? He doesn't understand the word no, kept coming back during Sundays for eggs, a whole lot of fun and cooking her breakfast and he's always, always there. I so loved that he waited, and he never pushed Avery to do things she wasn't ready. There is no other guy like Cam - he's totally the boyfriend material. Someone you can bring home to mommy and be proud of. He knows how to take care of his girl. He was perfect for her. He was a breathe of fresh air in her life.

Now, if she can just be honest with him about her past...

But like Avery, he also has a past he wasn't really proud of.

Friends.
“We are your friends. It is the law of friendship that you tell us things you don’t want to tell us.”

Brit & Jacob where amazing friends to Avery. I love their characters as much as I love the two. They were very supportive, persuasive but not pushy and loyal. They care a lot for Avery and they wanted her to be happy. I wonder if Ms. J.Lynn can have Brit's story too...

Their ♥ story: a catastrophe waiting to happen?
Can their love surpass their past?

There were so many things that surrounded them - most are sensitive issues one cannot just share out loud. Honesty and trust was something so big, it wasn't readily handed down. And since these two are vital ingredients in the recipe of a relationship - theirs is a catastrophe waiting to happen.

I truly would like to understand Avery why she wouldn't like to share her past to her friends and to Cam - it wasn't something she wanted to relive. But Cam as well as her friends already proved that they care for her - a lot. And Cam was finally brave enough to spill his secrets to her, why couldn't she return the favor?

Anything Can Happen to Anyone
I feel sad for what happened with Avery - especially the circumstances that surrounds her suffering. She was a victim - but she had allowed herself to remain as one for a very long time. As the book says: there is a difference between surviving and being a survivor.

What happened to her shows that anything can happen to anyone whatever social status they belong to. They can also be helpless, a victim and they need all the help that they can get. Money could not save you from anything.

What I love most?
What don't I love?

I already love it, but I would have loved it much, much more if I had Cam's POV - wouldn't that be grand? :) I love the sexual innuendos and funny banters between the two characters. It was certainly entertaining.

To End
Some people are not left much of a choice - what they chose may not always be the best, but it all goes down to one thing - they will always live for the consequences of their choices.

J.Lynn wrote a novel that will make you laugh, cry, fall in love and ache. Wait For Me is a story about love, second chances and moving on.

Favorite Quotes:
  • “I'm beginning to think cookies is a code word for something else."
"Maybe it is." He tugged on my bag again as he took a confident step back, forcing me down another step. "And just think about it. If cookie was a code word, whatever it symbolizes, it's been in your mouth, sweetheart.”
  • “You've been checking me out, haven't you? In-between your flaming insults? I feel like man candy.”
  • “Fuck, Avery. You think I don't want you? There's not a single part of you that I don't want, you understand? I want to be on you and inside of you. I want you against the wall, on the couch, in your bed, in my bed, and every fucking place I can possibly think of, and trust me, I have a vast imagination when it comes to these kinds of things. Don't ever doubt that I want you. That is not what this is about.”
  • “I want to be here with you, Avery. You don't have to worry about impressing me or wowing me. You've already done that.”
  • “Did last night really happen?" One side of his lips tipped up, and my chest swelled. I'd missed that smile. "Depends on what you think happend." "I took my shirt off for you?" His eyes deepened. "Yes. Lovely moment.”
  • ‘Cuz if he was hot, you should’ve used it to your benefit. That could’ve become the best ice breaker in history. Like you two could fall madly in love and you get to tell everyone how you plowed him before he actually plowed you.”
  • “I’m a shallow, shallow boy. Hey, it helps that you’re pretty. It brings out the nice guy in me. Makes me what to share my cookies with you.”
  •  “We are your friends. It is the law of friendship that you tell us things you don’t want to tell us.”
  • “You’re a good guy, Cam.”
  • “No, I’m not.” He exhaled deeply and his breath was warm against my cheek. “I’m only good with you.”
  • As long as the sun’s shining, shit can’t be that bad.
  • “You were perfect.” Cam dipped his mouth to mine. “Only because I was with you.”
