SHORT REVIEW:
Clean, touching, heartwarming and beautiful story of the
journey of two young beautiful girls. It’s a story of growing up, beating the
odds and their fears, love and most of all friendship.
LONGER:
Writing and winning a scholarship to London has been Hannah’s
dream, and more. She had dreamed of adventure and excitement. When she finally
got her chance, she immediately grabbed it. But being accepted into a
prestigious writing program at The Warriner School was more than what she
wished for. Without Caroline, her best friend and the comforts of the familiar,
will she be able to make it?
Caroline’s life had been predictable. She’s a great
student who happens to love her invisibility cloak. But when her best friend
was suddenly out of Oklahoma and she was about to begin her junior year alone. Not
to mention, her life was going down the drain on the first day of school when a
sudden schedule change was done. The invisible girl is about to go on center
change. Yikes. Can she possibly do it?
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, or this time, makes
the friendship grow stronger. But with miles and oceans apart, and with a lot
of things being stuffed on their plate individually: family, love, school, distance
and of course, growing up – will their friendship be able to survive it?
It didn’t need one heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, steamy
or overflowing romance for this book to be great. Good stories make you feel. They
make you think. They wake your emotions even in the wee hours of the morning.
You would not want to put it down. Steering The Stars had been that. I started
it and finished it in one sitting. At 3 am, I was teary-eyed, my heart warmed
with emotions, and I was feeling happy for both girls who simply deserve their
happy ending. Two lovely, amazing stories wrapped in a beautiful package. You would
not want to miss this.
