Determined to overcome a dark and tragic past, college student Everly Wallace is only months away from earning her degree in physical therapy. She’s consumed with school, caring for her ailing grandfather, and figuring out how to pay the next bill. The last thing she wants is a relationship, but it just might be the one thing she needs.
Major League pitcher Cole Parker hasn’t fought for anything in his life. He went from a privileged upbringing to a multimillion dollar All-Star career. But when his pitching shoulder starts to give him trouble at only twenty-four years old, he faces the possibility of his injury becoming public knowledge and costing him everything.
In a desperate bid to save his career, Cole decides to hire someone to treat his injury, someone who will keep things off the record and out of the media. He finds the perfect solution in Everly. As mysterious as she is beautiful, she provides an enticing distraction from his pain. Soon, physical therapy is the last thing on his mind.
When an act of betrayal brings the truths they both fear to light, Cole will have to fight for the first time in his life…not just for his career, but for Everly’s love.

The blurb pretty much covers what this story is all about.

It’s started with physical therapy and ended with something they didn’t expect.

What I love about this story the most are the main characters – Everly and Cole. They came from different backgrounds, experienced way different life, - polar opposite, but they hit off and fell in love. Oh it wasn’t a piece of cake – they had a lot on their plate – freak accidents, attacks, unwanted family members, psycho ex, insecurities and a dark past that is looming above their heads. They had a pretty rough start but once they finally got into the relationship – they were pretty awesome, especially Cole. He didn’t let her run, he forced her to stay, face whatever the problem was, and most importantly, believed in her when she needed him too.

The secondary characters like her grandfather caught my heart too – they have a very close relationship, and they would do anything for each other. Her father on the other hand is another story. Cole’s teammates were pretty nice as well, they hit it off with Everly the first time they get to know her, and there was an easy camaraderie between them. When Everly met with disaster, they were worried too.

This is my first Raine Thomas book and I must admit I enjoyed reading it. She made my birthday. I fell in love with Cole and Everly, hated all the people that went against them and was amazed on how the both of them fix whatever or whoever was bothering them. You will surely think twice before doing something against any of them.  It was a fun read, with some medical jargons that is coupled with sexy scenes. For Everly is a wonderful read that I would surely recommend.
