JC Reed has the ability to knock the wind off my lungs with the twist she pulls in her novels. She managed to surpass my expectations, and give me surprises when I least expect it. So despite the fact, that this book was shorter than what I would have usually read, I grabbed the opportunity to read it.

First – it’s the cover. Definitely, drool-worthy. Anyone would be tempted to read it, I am not so strong myself that I have succumb to temptation, but don’t worry, if you think the cover is sexy, wait until you read the rest of the story. It started with a bang, and ended with an earth-shattering scene.

It was the night they’d try to add some spark on their relationship. I thought I was reading a flashback, actually, or I was looking at a new couple, I had to make sure. But it was still Jett and Brooke, the couple who have caught my heart every since I met them. Their game is supposed to be for a one night stand, with no strings attached – intresting, huh? Jett proved that he can become a very dangerous, seductive stranger that can entice just about anyone.

But this ‘stranger’ has his own secrets too. Secrets he didn’t tell Brooke. And now, she discovered something she’s not meant to find out, each secret tore her into pieces. I wonder how would he ever make it up to her? Can he ever justify his actions? Because if you were to ask me, it was so unforgivable.

I have never encountered a couple that has been through so much, and just when I thought they are finally going to have their happy ending, I am once again taken aback of the sudden twist in their relationship. Argh. It makes me desperate to see them more together, happily, and with no more lies and mistrust between them – how hard can that be?! They love each other, they are living together, and they’re going to have a baby = enough ingredients for a happy ending, right?! WRONG. Apparently, JC Reed has other ideas, which makes their HEA (which I definitely PRAY they would have), WORTH THE WAIT! I would love to have Jett’s POV in the second book! :)

If you want to read something short, something sexy, with a whole lot of twist and some sprinkles of suspense, thrill and mystery – this is the book for you.
