The Girlfriend Request by Jodie Andrefski (@2000_words)

Updating best friend to girlfriend is more than a change of status…

Emma has been best friends with Eli since she moved to his neighborhood ten years ago. Tired of being cast in the role of the girl next door, Emma creates a fake Facebook profile in the hopes of starting an online friendship with Eli, which would hopefully lead to more. Like...way more. From friend request to In a Relationship--it all seemed so completely logical when she'd planned it.

Eli can't figure out what Emma is up to. He’s pretty sure she's the one behind the Facebook profile, but then again, why would she do something so drastic instead of just admitting she wants to be more than friends? And who the heck is this new guy he saw her with? Eli starts to think that just maybe...he missed his chance with the girl next door.

Two best friends, one outlandish ruse. Their status is about to become way more than It’s Complicated…

This Entangled Teen Crush book contains one fake Facebook profile, two best friends who secretly crave each other, and a dreaded sex talk with parents…boy crush in the room included. Pushing a relationship beyond the friend zone has never been so crazy…

MY REVIEW: Why is it so hard to tell the truth?

They have been friends since Emma had move into their neighborhood eons ago, and some things change. Emma wanted Eli to be more than just her friend. But how can an ordinary girl snatch someone extraordinary as Eli? Well, she makes one of those crazy fake Facebook Profile base on what she thinks Eli’s type of girl.

But Eli knew Emma inside out, and he couldn’t understand her. She could have just told him the truth. When he tried to tell her about what he felt – she didn’t let him, instead she makes things more complicated for the both of them.

I like these two – but would love them even more if they were open to each other, or allow the other one to really listen before jumping into conclusions. Our boy, Eli – he’s pretty amazing. He knew Emma inside out, and despite the fact that he wouldn’t entertain it at first, he just knew it was her! But it wasn’t when he thought he’d lost her that he finally realize she was the one for her!

Would it be too late for the both of them?

The beauty of young romance – it’s a clean, sweet, romance that would want you want to scream in frustration at some points, and yet would make you heart warm in the innocence and complications of young love.

MY REVIEW: After what Tracy had been through with her husband, she really deserved a second chance in love and life – it was just timely that Connor Jackson gets traded to the New Jersey Sonics a year before he retires. He wasn’t just looking forward in winning the World Series, but he was looking forward into reconnecting with his old college sweetheart that he couldn’t forget – Tracy.

But Tracy has a whole gang on her plate, not to mention late alimonies, and piled up bills – dating was definitely not on her to-do list, until he came along. How can she tell him that she was a package deal? She can’t be with him, if he couldn’t accept her kids. Yeah, it’s not just one – but four of them!

Connor – it took him some days before he finally realize the fact that he wanted the package deal. He was willing to try, and give it his best when it comes to Tracy and her children. He was sure of his decision, and there was no going back. He wanted her and the rest of the gang.

Nevertheless, you’d like Tracy. She’s an amazing mother, and would put first the welfare of her children rather than her own. That’s why their relationship is on the rocks at most point – because she was unsure, because she would think what’s the best for her children. She might really want him, and he might be a god in bed – but her children would always be her priority. She’s also independent and trying so hard to provide for her family. I love that she has a great support system when it comes to friends and family as well.

I was looking forward for more interactions or longer moments with Connor and Tracy’s kids. I think their time together was quite short and shallow to build any relationship. I was also waiting that the issue with Mason would be discussed more.  What happened to him? Why the sudden change?

Although I was looking forward for more depth in the relationship between some characters, I like this book. There were a lot of heartwarming and sweet moments. It’s a nice read about love and second chances.

The Best of Me by Elisabeth Barrett (@ebarrettwrites)

In the follow-up to Once and Again—hailed by bestselling author Claudia Connor as “a beautiful second-chance love story”—Elisabeth Barrett returns to the Briarwood, an unforgettable place where legacy and longing make dreams come true.

Jane Pringle never meant to fall for her boss. After landing a job as a pastry chef at the exclusive Briarwood Golf and Yacht Club in Eastbridge, Connecticut, she just wants to keep her son in a good school district and find some peace and quiet, far away from her manipulative ex-husband. But when Briarwood’s charismatic co-owner takes an interest in her, Jane’s best-laid plans go awry . . . in the sweetest way possible.

Rich and handsome, the grandson of one of the most powerful men in New York City, Preston North hasn’t lived quite the charmed life everyone believes. His family taught him everything he needs to know about betrayal—and Press wants no more of it. What he wants is Jane. The gorgeous single mom is selfless and kind, plus she’s got a backbone. To win her trust, Press just needs to shake off his playboy reputation.

They’ve each been burned in the past. But now Press and Jane will have to choose between letting their fears get the best of them . . . or breaking free and following their hearts.

MY REVIEWJane had been through a lot. Trusting is hard for her – she once gave her trust, and it had her running for her life, with her little boy in tow. Now, she’s almost stable working as a pastry chef in Briarwood Golf and Yacht Club in Eastbridge, Connecticut. She just wants a safe place for her and her son.

Here comes, Preston North, one of the owners, who took interest in her after their interesting (and quite fun) first official meeting. Preston might have a past he wasn’t proud of, but he owned up to his mistakes, and trying to make the best out of his life. His patience was admirable, so as his control. He was willing to wait – however long it takes for Jane to finally give him the chance.

But after what happened to her past, will she once again risk her heart?

Jane is very, very lucky to be surrounded by people who love and adore both her and Andy. She might not be the person who easily asks for help, but she’s working on it. She had a hard time trusting, and it caused some problems with her and Pres – but Pres is a very forgiving person, and Jane finally swallowed her pride, and grabbed her happy ending by the balls (thank goodness).

I had fun and excitement reading Jane’s and Preston’s story. I love the fact that these are two imperfect people (which makes them a bit real in my book), and even in the ending – the both of them has still some stuffs to work on themselves (but it doesn’t make it any less happy).
