Title: Emphatic
Author: Kaylee Ryan
Genre: New Adult Romance
Release Date: August 25, 2015
There comes a point in your life where you have to say enough is enough.
I wasted my college years on a guy who played with my head, played with my heart. I was blinded by the fairytale, the one that didn’t exist.
The day I gave up on the idea of happily ever after, my focus became me. Moving forward and establishing my career.
Until one day…
I didn’t expect him. My new boss, a six foot two, inked rock god. I believed I was working for the record label, I was wrong.
It’s impossible for me to keep my distance, believe me I’ve tried. He’s not who I expected him to be. He’s so much more he’s…Emphatic

Logan finally has enough. She broke it off with her
boyfriend who seemed to have a penchant on breaking up with her to sleep with
other women. At last, she had the courage to break the cycle and be on her own.
It was a good thing that her parents had brought her a Hawaii Trip as a
graduation present.
Her beliefs of prince charming, happily ever after and
fairy tales were ruined. For now, she will be concentrating on herself and her
career. But going to Hawaii changed everything. Thanks to her best friend
Stacey who have pushed her out of her comfort zone to try something new. She
met the tall, tattooed and tempting Michael who has ruined her to every other
man. It sent her running. FAST.
What she didn’t expect was to see him again. As her new
boss. He’s a rock star. Working for him made him off limits, or so she thinks.
Because apparently, this guy wasn’t over her, and he was going to push himself
against her walls until it crumbles. Can she fight the attraction?
I was expecting for someone cocky and arrogant – but he’s
neither of the two. But he’s never boring. Kacen is a swoon-worthy,
I-want-him-to-be-my-next-book-boyfriend-type of character. He can be intense,
sweet and he doesn’t let fame get into his head. As for the rest of the band –
they were so much fun. I laugh through their banters and teasing.
Kacen was sure of Logan, but it was Logan who was wary of
starting a relationship, not to mention her ex is still in the way. She tries
her best in resisting him, but to no avail. How can you resist this six foot
temptation? Kacen proved himself every chance he got, he never gave up in her.
She might pushed him away, but he still comes back.
It’s really, really sweet, heartwarming and fun read. The
anticipation was the main driving force of this book: will they or will they
not? It has a sprinkle of steam, and a whole lot of emotions. Kaylee Ryan wrote
another great read!
