That's the number of women I've shagged in the last twelve months.
I'm Ryder Stevens.
Don't pretend you don't know me. I'm a god.
I'm hot, I'm British and I take what I want. I'm also the number one ranked tennis player in the world. But it's my off court antics that gain the most attention. I cruise through life, running from one scandal to the next. Hell I can't even take a piss without the world knowing about it.
Rules? Who gives a shit?
Rules are there to be broken and I'm the king of breaking them.
But even the king can be bought to his knees. I'm sidelined with an injury that changes everything.
Maybe my life isn't so perfect after all...

My Review
I admit – it was the
number. My eyes widened with surprise: WOW. To say that Ryder Stevens is a
ladies’ man would be a complete understatement. He is as good in tennis as he
is on bed. He loves to give the press bait on his personal life. After all,
they were more interested in it than his sports. His agent can’t control him
either.
Until one accident turned
his world upside down. OMG. I didn’t want to laugh because of the seriousness
of the consequences, but this was one of those scenes that had me laughing,
karma was catching on to him. He paid his dues big time. Not only that he had
an injury which cost him a title, but the whole world knew HOW he managed to
got himself injured. Speaking of favorite scene, my favorite of them all, which
had me really laughing out loud was the scene when his mother walked in on him.
Ah yep, winning scene right there…
Since he was bored to
death, with nothing to do, his friend suggested that he read his fan mail. One
mail caught his attention, it was from a boy. It piqued his curiosity and when
he looked him up and called his home – it was the boy’s mother who answered.
It started an unusual
friendship between the two. Well, it didn’t go smoothly at first, but he was
determined, not just to talk to her every day but to offer help too. She was a
single mom with a child who was suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. Her life
revolved around her son, and nothing more. So when she challenged him to do
something selfless for once, he challenged her back to do something selfish for
a change.
It was a chance for her
son that brought them to him – before he knew it, she was standing right in
front of him, and he wanted nothing more but to have her. There were sparks
right there, the tension was pretty much palpable, and he can’t do anything
about it, unless she wanted to. So when she gave the ‘go’ signal, he was happy
to obliged.
He changed, and I thought
he was going to get his HEA with Scarlett and her boy. When he followed her in
the States, he was in for the biggest surprise of his life. OUCH.
You will grow fond of Ryder
as you read along the pages. I didn’t expect to at first, but he’d easily charm
you to warm up to him – because underneath his manwhorish ways is really a
great guy. Now, what is eating me is the ending…
For those who doesn’t like
cliffhangers - don’t pick this up. Because it ended with a jaw-dropping,
heartbreaking cliffhanger that makes you want to scream. Nevertheless, patience
has always been my strongest suit – sooooo, I’ll just have to wait for the next
volume for my answers.
