Making You Mine is my favorite Moreno Brothers novel. I had to find this one before I started all of my reviews, as I have said, I was on momentum. Sal is my favorite character among the brothers – he’s very anal, a level-headed person and very reasonable until he fell in love with Grace. Now, Sal understands what the fuss and the stuffs his brothers were doing when they were in love. Touché!

Grace is someone who wants to prove she can do something, but because of her age and her looks no one takes her seriously. I don’t like that Grace’s character was manipulated by her mother and until the end, she didn’t seem to mind it. There were occasional no’s, but they were somewhat weak, and usually she just lets her mom have her way.

Their romance takes into turn when Alex gave Grace the shot she needed – not the one that she wants but close to it, and open for the possibilities of letting her inside the kitchen. She was basically shoved into Sal’s quiet and organized world.  They found themselves in love with each other – and they were in for an amazing ride of their lives.

However, one drunken night at Vegas, Sal made a mistake. A gruesome mistake that can cost him his relationship with Grace. Can the cliché, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas work on him?

Our old friends from the previous books are here, we get to see how they are doing with their lives. Angel & Sarah have a successful branch in the Marina, Alex & Valerie are having a family, Sof & Eric are engaged, Romeo & Izzy are doing fine as well. There’s a newly added Moreno, Vincent – whom I am looking forward to having his very own story in the future (REALLY HOPING).

The Epilogue is phenomenal. It was just wonderful to see how the Moreno couples were doing after a couple of years and see a whole new generation of Moreno’s. Plus a short story about Angel and Sarah’s journey in conceiving their very own baby.

Making You Mine may not have the amazing glow of a young love in Forever Mine, but this is a story for first love as well. Splendidly mixed with lies, betrayal, sacrifice and misunderstanding, Elizabeth Reyes once again made a fantastic story that will melt your hearts.

After reading the first three Moreno brothers with Romero in it, I was looking forward for this book. But I was in for a very big surprise. I saw Romero as someone who is funny and cracks out a whole lot of joke, however, readers saw a different kind of Romero this time: he was not perfect, especially when he’s drunk (which we all know), he was really possessive (I don’t think he trusts Izzy), and has scary anger management issues that I think should’ve been addressed by the author more properly. With that kind of issues, you cannot just sit in the internet for an hour and get some tips. I think he needs professional help.

On the other hand, I love his uncles, and through some flashbacks, readers will understand why he is rough sometimes. This book is an emotional rollercoaster ride. Romero can be really hot-tempered (Alex would be ashamed with his temper outbursts) then vulnerable. There were new characters whom you would love, and would love to kill as well. I so hate Pat, I could say she deserved what she got.

The story reminded me of Beautiful Disaster, where a nice relationship suddenly becomes too overwhelming and unhealthy. There was a part of me that agrees with Izzy’s family when they thought Romero is too violent, and can hurt her. I know Izzy believes that he would never, but angry people can just be blind and deaf when they flare up. Anyway, the book is a nice read but I wouldn’t count it as one of my favorites in the Moreno Brothers series.

After reading a glimpse of Sophie and Eric’s blooming love story in Forever Mine, I know I needed to get my hands on Sweet Sophie. If the Moreno Brothers are the ultimate alpha male, Sof is the female version. She’s very passionate, hot-headed and determined – even her brothers couldn’t stop her. Good thing she has Eric. I think Eric is more level headed of the two of them – but he’s still somewhat putty is Sof’s hand. Eric had me laughing for most parts primarily because he was really scared to get his ball crushed by Sof’s brothers.

I like Sof because she sees good in other people and she’s not afraid of accepting that she made a mistake – humbling qualities, but both brought her trouble in her relationship with Eric.

I was wondering all along what kind of ‘trials’ would these two have, I have this idea that their relationship was perfect, after all, Sof was saving herself for him, and Eric would never let Sof cry. That is why I was a little disappointed with the plot, after reading Alex and Val’s story, I was hoping it would surpass the drama and action there. I wish the author could’ve chosen a more mature or deeper drama than that. But Sweet Sophie was still a nice read, it stresses the importance of fidelity and safe sex. Something a lot of us needs to be reminded of.

Always Been Mine is a 180-degree different from the Young Adult Romance, Forever Mine. I got excited I never made a review for the first one because I was anticipating not only the shift in genre, but the romance that is budding between two commitment phobic, Alex and Valerie. We had a glimpse of these two in Sarah and Angel’s story, and now we will finally witness how their story will end.

First, unlike Forever Mine, this one is a little steamy. It was a battle of pride and self-preservation. It was cute watching them getting together. There were a lot more twists and suspense, a little more action. There were just so many things going on in this book: Alex and his alpha-male nature, Valerie and her pride, Bruce the Psycho and Luke the hopeful and of course, there’s the anal Isabel who caught Romero’s attention.  

Like the first one, Always Been Mine emphasizes on the importance of honesty, and in addition, communication in a relationship. Another thing to love about this story, is that it offers a glimpse on a previous romance, and a budding love story yet to unfold. Elizabeth Reyes is one amazing author!

Forever Mine is a delightful story of first love, first heartache, first everything. Elizabeth Reyes made the bad-boy-gets-good-girl familiar story line into something else. It was funny and sweet, uncomplicated and straightforward.

I was fascinated with every character. Even the secondary characters were great, they were so much fun and brings humor to the story. I was easily caught up in their lives. They are surprisingly well-mannered and grounded. Parents and guardians were barely present and they seemed to have little involvement and supervision, but in some household this can be a normal occurrence.

Although, the lead characters, Sarah and Angel fell in love almost at first sight, the story made a few remarkable twists. I was a bit disturbed with Sarah’s relationship with Sydney. I always believe that boys and girls can be friends without anything attached to it, but their relationship made me cringe. I have a boy best friend, and I couldn’t recall telling him the THREE words. I love the emphasis on honesty, and how important it is even to young lovers.

I love Forever Mine and I couldn’t stop turning the pages. This book may not have the most beautiful cover as some YAs do, but I assure you it is worth your time. I decided to finish all the Moreno Brothers series before making all my reviews – I had my momentum going on and I would die before I’d stop reading them all. Forever Mine is my second favorite story in the series, guess what’s the first?
