Finally, I AM DONE. I have been inserting books in between reads because I got bored. 

At first I thought the best thing there is was the cover - as usual Fallen Series has one of the best covers I have seen.

The first chapters bored me to death. The story didn't pick up until the last chapters of the book -- and there goes the bomb!! Explosive twist that had me dropped to my seat (well, not literally). This was the other guy they were talking about. And I thought I had it coming- only to be ultimately shock. Lucinda's first love? No, it was not Daniel. It was someone else. Not going to put any spoilers here (although I'm dying to). Amazing, Amazing, Amazing. 

I would have given it a 4 if the story wasn't a drag. I really like the first book of the series - the second and third were a blur. I read the fourth book because I'm dying to know the ending - how will this circus come to its final curtain call. What will happen to the characters? Will Daniel and Luce love conquer it all (those type of stuffs.)

Lauren Kate delivered well to end this series. It was almost disappointing before the surprising twist. The whole drag was ALMOST worth it.

Book Review

I didn’t write any reviews for TORMENT because the title says it all for the book – it was a torment. The whole book dragged me into finding the answers to which weren’t there. Don’t get me wrong, I loved reading Fallen. I thought it was a nice book, especially the cover. Yet, there was something still missing. I think I was deprived of certain things that should be there. Torment was a torment, but I expected more from Passion, because I thought it was the last book – well, it wasn’t. There is still Rapture coming in Spring of 2012 and I do hope it would be the last. Another book would really bring the whole series into pieces.

What made this book a disappointment are the plot holes and unnecessary time traveling. The author didn’t even bother to explain why she choose that certain point in history. I could commend the historical research because it was certainly great – but this is not a history book, right? In most pages of this book, you can see Luce being given some history lessons – she became an observer of her former incarnations. The romance is sort of sucked out of the story – which is a shame because the book is entitled Passion. I’m sorry to say but the two books after the fallen are the typical “filler book” in the series.

I am ready for the Fallen Series to end. Luce’s questions have been answered. What I am waiting for the last book is the resolution between the fight of good-vs-evil. I think there has been a shift of plot from the Luce-loves-Daniel love story to saving the world which spoiled the series. Why couldn’t it end on Passion, right? I haven’t learned anything about ‘Announcers’ rather you can summon it and can take you to places, I get introduced to ‘the scale’ which definitely made me more frustrated because there were really no explanations what in the world are they.  

The story was not that super terrible, a little disappointing but okay. I just wished she had gone “3D” in all her past lives so that there would be more emotions in the book rather than watching her watching all those past Luces. Yes, I will still read rapture and risk being frustrated because I’m dying to know how the story would FINALLY (?) end.

Book Review

Fallen is as nice as its cover. One thing that piqued my curiosity about this book is certainly the cover – it is dark, sexy, and one of its kind. It somehow promises a nice read. At first I thought it was a vamp lit again, after reading Twilight – I decided I needed to get a break from fangs.  Surprise, surprise, the plot revolved around star-crossed lovers, reincarnation and the ancient fight between the good and evil.

I was quite surprise by the twist and turns of the plot – as well as the development of the characters as the story ends. I’m glad it is not predictable, and I ended up turning the pages more and more, eager to see who’re on the good side and on the other side.

Was I disappointed? Not really. The only problem with this book is that Luce (Lucinda) constantly asks question that was never answered. Until the book ended, I kept on asking what does she needs to know? Well, I guess I have to buy the next book, don’t I?
