How can they have a future when their past is based on a lie?

The perfect preacher’s daughter, Verity Fairchild, has something that only she and God know about and she wants to keep it that way. Her mistake was easy to keep secret when she was out of town, but now that she's come back to Hope Parish for the summer, she comes face-to-face with the guy responsible for it all. Boone Outlaw nearly ruined everything for her and despite the fact that he's now working at her father's church, she's determined to stay as far away from him as possible.

Boone Outlaw doesn't understand Verity's anger towards him. He barely knows her. In high school she was Holy Mary Verity and she was off limits - except in his dreams where Verity seems way too real. Most of the time he was wasted in high school, not the type of boy Verity would ever look at twice, but he can’t shake the feeling that something might have happened between them. He’s going to break his own rules to get the answers he needs straight from Verity.

What will Verity do when she finds something in Boone that she never knew existed and her perfect mistake is the only thing that could stand between them and their happiness? Will she sacrifice Boone to keep her secret?

Yay! This series officially goes into my favorite books.

Talk about reading TWO BOOKS in one day!!!! Yep – Zoe Dawson is that good! She made me hooked into her books, unable to take my eyes off every page, all I can do was to sit in one corner as I savor one Outlaw at a time…

I have to review the latest one first! The moment I read the blurb – I was already intrigued with the book. Then when the opportunity came in for a review with not just this book, but of the first one in the series – heck, why not? Thank goodness, none of the books have disappointed me.

One part of the unholy trinity, Boone Outlaw had wanted Verity Fairchild since then. But she was off limits because she was Holy Mary Verity – the preacher’s daughter.
Holy Mary Verity, who had been off limits in high school, and then disappeared right after graduation, was my fantasy fuck.
What he didn’t understand was his recurring dreams about her. Disturbing dreams that were almost, almost real. He knew he was wasted during his high school years, someone Verity would not even give her time of the day. But why can’t he just get rid of the eerie feeling that there was something that happened between them he didn’t know about… Verity was mad at him, he had no idea why. He was desperate to find some answers, and he would do everything just to have it.

In high school, she was the perfect preacher’s daughter who could do no wrong. If only people knew the secrets that she had been keeping ever since graduation night. It was a secret only she and God know about and she intends to keep it that way.  Coming back was a mistake, her secrets were no longer safe especially when Boone Outlaw keeps on showing up into her life. It was all his fault! He had ruin her life, and he could ruin her reputation if she was not careful. Now working for his father, she’s determined to stay as far away from him as possible… can she resist him?
Boone Outlaw was my fall from grace. And I had fallen so hard.
Just like the rest of the girls, I fell in love with the Boone Swoon. I like him – since high school, he had changed a lot. He became more responsible and his passion for work had become admirable. He is sweet, sexy, hard worker, and talented. He can sing, he is good with his hands, not just with plants but with a guitar as well… and with… *blush* (no wonder Verity was tempted with him). Verity, on the other hand, started out as a hypocrite. She needed to be perfect, so she acted like one. A single night had changed her life forever. It had changed her character in so many ways, that one single night and falling in love with Boone. You will like her as the story progress, admire her feistiness somewhere in the middle and courage in the near end.

What turns out to be a complete misunderstanding, became something more for these two amazing characters. They have gone through a rough time in their high school days, and Verity’s rough time extended a bit. Nevertheless, they have made it through, stronger and braver than before. They have fought for what they want, and they are finally enjoying the fruits of their sacrifice. I was so in love with the ending. Zoe Dawson sure knows how to make my heart melt. But what makes this book more and more interesting is the fact that just as when you thought you know what this is all about, another surprise will come through. The element of surprise, of keeping me in random shock makes this book, and even this series more fascinating. This is surely a must read!

Now what did Ms. Perfect did last summer? It had been the running plot of the story which gave me the itch to go over from one page to the next one until the secret had been revealed. I already had the clue, I have the weird feeling about what happened that summer… (and I was almost right), but what I wasn’t prepared for was the thing that Aubree Walker witnessed, or the secret that was long-kept from her…

Aubree Walker was the perfect girl, the smartest, the most likely to succeed. Who would have thought that it could happen to her?

Here in the first book we are introduced to the Outlaw Brothers – the unholy trinity. Triplets, all identical, from the wrong side of the tracks and they give the real meaning to the word, bad boys. Booker Outlaw was the unpredictable brother. He was a successful writer and gave his brothers enough funds to start their lives, which is really noble and kind of him.

The story started when Aubree received a phone call from school. Her aunt, who took her in after her mother’s death, was in a coma after being found at the bottom of the stairs. It could have been an accident, or someone could have intentionally done it. But going back home only means one thing – facing the only person who knows about that summer – Booker Outlaw.

Coming back home to her aunt brings back old painful memories. Not only that, she starts to get threats, and she was wondering if everything is connected to what happened last summer. She was terrified, she turned into the only person who knows about her secret, and the only one she can confined in. Booker didn’t hesitate to help. But he too has a secret of his own that could ruin everything in seconds.

She was only back in the summer, he knows that. She was the forever type of girl, he wasn’t. But even a perfectly smart girl can fall in love with a bad boy…

The two of them might be broken and might have done something I have never imagined they are capable of – ahem – but it didn’t make me like them less. They are two amazing characters who have been through hell when they were younger, and I was wondering when their hardship will end. They were young, and they were forced to suffer this kind of ordeal that has weighed much on their shoulders. It had made them strong though, their past, their secret had formed their bond…

There were a whole lot of secrets in this novel.  Secrets that will change lives, secrets that others would kill for, secrets that will make you hold on to your seats. The danger, the suspense, the thrill of the chase makes The Perfect Mess very palatable to me.

I can’t believe I have waited this long to read this book. I can’t wait to meet the last Outlaw brother!
