Book Summary

The noise between Patch and Nora is gone. They've overcome the secrets riddled in Patch's dark past...bridged two irreconcilable worlds...faced heart-wrenching tests of betrayal, loyalty and trust...and all for a love that will transcend the boundary between heaven and earth. Armed with nothing but their absolute faith in one another, Patch and Nora enter a desperate fight to stop a villain who holds the power to shatter everything they've worked for - and their love - forever.

Book Review

If you love the first two books of the Hush Hush Series, you are going to love this third installment, Silence. This book hits off when Nora, our heroine wakes up from her kidnapping at the end of Crescendo. She had amnesia and could not remember the last five months of her life.

All of my favorite characters are still here, including Marcie, Vee, Patch, Dabria and guess who’s back again? Scott! However, I think Nora didn’t really grow up in this installment, she was still the impulsive girl who gets to do what she wants and then gets caught. She needed someone to save her, I just wish that she can also be ‘heroic’ and can save herself rather than relying on Scott or Patch. In this book, Nora is forced to face certain decisions that weren’t easy about who she is and who she will be.

What I also love in this book is the romance! Romance is in the air once more, the amnesia allows you to fall in love with all over again with Patch. The dialogues were just sweet and a little bit cheesy – actually cute.

Silence is quite different from the first two books because of a refreshing plot that was laid. The story line was better and Becca Fitzpatrick did not disappoint me. Another page-turner added to my series collection. I enjoy the suspense, action, twists and not but not the least, romance.

I don’t know whether I’d be excited when I reached the end to know that there is another installment to this series because I was hoping this would be the last. A cliffhanger ended the story – but it would make you look forward for the last book (in 2012!!). I am crossing my fingers that the final book will be worth the wait.

"I would lay down everything I possess, even my soul, for you. If that isn't love, it's the best I have."

"This is uncharted territory for me, but I need to know that at the end of the night, I have you to come home to."

"I love you.” His voice was straightforward, affectionate. “You make me remember who I used to be. You make me want to be that man again. Right now, holding you, I feel like we have a shot at beating all odds and making it together. I’m yours, if you’ll have me."

"I couldn't look at you and breath at the same time."

Book Summary

The sequel to the New York Times Best selling phenomenon, Hush, Hush!

Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.

Book Review

After reading the first book Hush, Hush, I just know I need to get my hands on this one. I find Crescendo better than the first one. The flashbacks were nicer and as well as the dialogues. There was more information of the Nephilim, the real incident behind her father’s death, Nora’s surprising past and a new light on some of the characters.

I still love the characters. I am still head-over-hills in love with Patch. He is still hot, and he did everything to protect Nora. Nora, on the other hand, I find her more realistic in this novel. You may hate her because she turned into this immature and pretty irrational girl, she tends to speak or do things and then regret it later. But hey, teen-agers tend to act that way.

You will meet another hot guy here, Scott, Nora’s childhood friend who moved back to town during the time that Patch and her had problems. He was cute enough to make Patch jealous. You’ll never know whether he’s a good or bad guy. Then you get to know Marcie a whole lot better in this book, although she didn’t stopped being the ‘bully’ – but it was just nice to know her more as well as some of the reasons of her actions. Rixon was a revelation. He had played more part here compared to the first book because he got to hooked up with Nora’s best girlfriend, Vee. Now Vee, is still the same. I like her witty dialogues and she’s a still the light in this sort-of-dark novel.

The romance is amazing, the suspense is a killer and you will just turn one page to the next until you reached a cruel cliffhanger. Exactly, the ending is the real nightmare for those who love series. Good thing I got a copy of Silence (the third book). To end, Crescendo is still about the enthralling and emotional love story between the ordinary girl Nora and a fallen angel Patch.

being with you never felt wrong. It's the one thing I did right. You're the one thing I did right

“The only thing a boyfriend was good for was a shattered heart.”

“He's got the whole bad-boy-in-need-of-redemption thing going on, but the catch is, most bad boys don't want redemption. They like being bad. They like the power they get from striking fear and panic into the hearts of mothers everywhere”

“I tended to be more a romantic than a realist, and chose blind faith over cold logic.”

Book Summary

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.

With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Book Review

After reading Fallen Series and Twilight, my expectations for Hush, Hush were not that high. But after reading it, I guess, I’m into fallen angels after all. The book was one of the best fantasy romance I have ever read. I can summarize it in three S: Scary, Sexy, Sweet. Love it!

Why do I love Hush, Hush?
The Plot. I love the plot of this novel. The constant twist and turns of the story will keep you on your seats turning the pages until you finally unravel who is really the bad guy? The suspense was fantastic. One scene in the car was one of the scariest things I have ever read. It was magnetize since the book is written on the first person.

The Characters. I am  so in love with the mysterious, sexy bad boy named Patch. Edward Cullen is soooo no match for him. Nora, I like her character because she was not that obsessed with Patch, she takes risks in saving the people that she loved. Last but not the least Vee, who provided me with a witty and fun dialogue. She’s the comic relief in this sort-of-heavy-suspense-thriller-fantasy.

BUT…

I was looking for “THE ROMANCE” thing, I didn’t find it till the end of the book (though their innuendoes were pretty cute).
