Some things are worth waiting for. Things like true love.
Both Keith and Torie had their own burdens: Keith with
this broken heart and Torie with her secret past that broke her. Will their
love be ever enough to get through their demons?
Staying in her best friend’s cabin in the mountains for
Christmas is just what she needs for rest and relaxation. Or keeping herself
hidden from her past. She likes to keep it a secret, some things are not worth
sharing. Some may not understand. And then there is Keith…
Keith Scott had his own share of heartache, he had known
her for quite some time now, and yet it seems he couldn’t get through her
walls. Now, that he was home for the holidays, he wanted to spend it with his
family and perhaps breaking some of those walls and falling in love once again.
Torie tried to fight off the attraction at first, but to
no avail. Keith wanted her, everything about her, he will do anything to
protect her. That is what I love about Keith – he’s can be fierce when it comes
to protecting those who are important to him, but he can be kind, loving and
generous as well. The thing I like about Torie is the fact that she can come
out like a strong character (being in the police force and all), and yet there’s
a vulnerability in her too – which makes her a totally relatable female
character. The two of them together, makes this book an interesting read.
It has some faith elements in it, and in some point they
talk about God. It is not pronounced, just part of it, but somehow, those parts
proved to be vital in the story rather than the author pushing her faith.
Nevertheless, the story talks about love, forgiveness and
moving forward. A person should not be defined by his or her past, rather than,
how s/he stood up from it. Love can heal anything and can chase away even the
strongest demons we have.
