Blog Tour + Book Review | Letters to Molly by Devney Perry (@DevneyPerry)

Molly Alcott didn’t expect to open her mailbox one summer morning and find an old letter stuffed between bills and a supermarket flyer. Penned in familiar handwriting, dated over fifteen years ago, the letter was written to Molly after her first date with the man she’ll never forget.

Week after week, new letters appear. Each marks an event in the history of their epic love affair. Each heals a wound. Each holds the confession of the man who still owns Molly’s heart.

The letters are full of promise, hope and love, but truth be told, Molly wishes she could unread them all.

Because the man who wrote these letters is not the one sending them.

Finn and Molly had it all, marriage, career, and kids, until one mistake tore down the marriage and they ended up in a divorce. Now, six years later, both of them had adjusted in their lives and coparenting their children. Molly is finally able to stand on her feet and getting used to be a single mom. Then a letter arrived at her mailbox.

It was the letter than Finn wrote for her on their first date. A letter he never sent, and she never meant to have read. One drunken movie night didn’t help either. Suddenly, Finn was around again. In her house, in her bed, and in their lives. Is this a start of their second chance? Did he ever forgave him for what she did?

Another problem though, who are sending the letters?

This is why I love Devney Perry, how she can turn heartaches into happily ever after without so much of a fuss and wouldn’t leave you with the words, really? They’re together again?

I have been waiting for Letters to Molly ever since I have read about the two of them in the previous book. There was something between her and Finn that can still be saved, only if they would heal, only if they would learn to forgive and forget the mistakes of the past.

They were just so much in love with each other, and you just have to ask, when did it start to break? Did one of them noticed it and try to save the marriage before it crumbled down? How can something so solid, so true and so amazing turned bitter, and broken?

This is Finn and Molly’s story, right from the beginning, to the end, and to the beginning of the new chapters in their lives. It’s a journey of marriage, the raw, painful reality of it, when the honeymoon is over, and life sets in. It’s a story of betrayal and redemption. Of forgiveness and love. Of loss and finding what’s right in front of you.

Letters to Molly tells us the importance of family, of trust and communication within the family and especially with the couple. It reminds us that there is more to life than building a company and making money.

To say that I loved this book is underrated, because Devney Perry went beyond it. Letters to Molly would make you believe in the great power of love. How it can move mountains and heal broken hearts and forgive even the gravest of all mistakes.

As to who sends the letters, I had my wild guess. Turned out I was right.

I look forward for more books fro this author!
