Blog Tour, Book Review, Giveaway | Not Quite Forever by Catherine Bybee

The scenes may give off sparks but not really enough to build a fire, like what I'm used to reading - and despite the rage of those hot, sizzling books that is in the market, this one proves that a good old-school romantic read can surpass it. I loved this book, and every page of it. I had a good laugh, a swoon-worthy romance and two amazing characters to pin for.

When the globetrotting doctor pulls a disappearing act on Dakota, she’s prepared to write him off…until fate brings a blindsiding twist to her story.

Still scarred from a past tragedy, Walt may have disappeared on Dakota, but now he’s determined to win her back. For the first time in years, he knows he’s ready for a new chance at love. This is my first Catherine Bybee - and I was totally swooning, if not laughing all throughout the novel. I loved every page of it, even those heartbreaking scenes, and those scenes with frustratingly annoying characters. There's definitely no dull moments in here, as our main female character, best-selling author Dakota Laurens is a lady filled with spunk and humor. I so adore her, and even when she's mad and she's heartbroken - she will still make you smile.

As for our dear doctor - I admire people who work in the emergency department. They think and move faster than anyone else in the hospital. Even though he could become the heir to the cardiology practice of his father, he preferred to make it on his own, receiving only a fraction by volunteering his services in Doctors without Borders program.

The moment they met, you can already feel the chemistry between them. And the moment I thought they'd live happily ever after since they were too comfortable with each other - he suddenly had cold feet and forgot to call.

OUCH. Can you hear her heart breaking? Naturally, she goes away and mend her broken heart. It was when HE finally realized that she meant so much more to him. When something happened that concerns the both of them - he must prove that he's worth it. And he'd do anything to get back into her good graces.

All I have are praises for Dakota. She has all the right to be a b***h and to complain, but all she showed was kindness, and in the end, it was rewarded. I love how it ended, how all those conflicts came to a halt, and how finally Dakota & Walt had their happily ever after.

Catherine Bybee wrote a feel-good book filled with romance and fun. This is the type of book that you wouldn't want to miss if you'd like to fall in love without having your hearts being crushed into pieces. Simply shows that a great book doesn't need too much heat, too much angst, and too much dark emotions to be beautiful. It's a breather, and I am completely, hopelessly, in love with it.
